“There will be many citizens, I am convinced, who will march for justice. But I believe that other sectors dissatisfied with the Government will march. We are not leading it. We are not the ones who are leading this march,” Grecia Quiroz clarified at a press conference.

Quiroz said that he will give his vote of confidence to the federal authorities, after his meeting with the head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Omar García Harfuch, who made tours of the entity to supervise the Michoacán Plan for Peace and Justice, however, he assured that he maintains his reservations.

“There are many things that sound interesting, but I repeat, it sounds very nice and ostentatious, but how many times have they come to us to present plans but it remains on a few pages and nothing happens. I told the managers that I trusted them to come to work,” he said.

“Right now they bring a plan for Michoacán, I asked them for a plan for Uruapan and that’s it, they will bring a plan for the region,” he added.

The municipal leader said that García Harfuch promised her to have a meeting every 15 days to review progress.

Harfuch visited Morelia this Thursday to present the Michoacán Plan and had a meeting with the Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla. Later, he toured the streets of Uruapan and met with the Mayor, with whom he agreed to reinforce surveillance and address the needs of the population.

“We reviewed the strategic axes: intelligence, attention to the causes, coordination, regionalization and shielding of borders to prevent crimes, combat extortion and protect families and economic activity. We thank the municipal presidents who expressed their trust and willingness to work with the state and the federation,” Harfuch reported.

Among the actions to address insecurity in the entity, the federal government plans to send 10,506 elements of the National Guard, the Army and the Navy, as well as various supports to address the causes of violence.

Harfuch highlighted that in the last 24 hours, Operation Parcutin has arrested six people, this in Gabriel Zamora, Parácuaro, Morelia and Arteaga, and long weapons, more than 200 cartridges, magazines, tactical equipment and five kilograms of methamphetamine were seized.
