La FGR confirma que indaga a dueño de Miss Universo y a 12 más por crimen organizado

Mexico City, November 26 (However).- The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) revealed that it is carrying out an investigation against Raul Rocha Cantupresident of Miss Universeas well as 12 other people for “organized crime, in relation to drug trafficking, huachicol and arms trafficking.”

In a statement, the Prosecutor’s Office reported that, on November 29, 2024, “it obtained sufficient information to open the research folder 928/2024“in which 13 people are being investigated, one of whom is the beauty pageant presidentidentified by authorities as Raul “R”.

In the specific case of said person, the FGR indicated that “in the corresponding procedure, fundamental data is being obtained that will allow the Federal Public Ministry [MPF]continue and delve into this research.”



The Prosecutor’s Office added that the legal situation of Raúl “R” will be announced as soon as the evidence that has been collected against him so far is ratified “with complete certainty.”

“As the pending arrest warrants are fulfilled and public hearings are carried out before federal judges, the information can be shared with complete precision,” said the FGR, which noted that an arrest warrant has already been executed against a federal official involved in the case.

The FGR statement comes after this morning the newspaper Reform reported on an accusation against Rocha Cantú, who is allegedly considered one of the leaders of a criminal group dedicated to huachicol from Central America to Mexico.

As noted by Reformthe investigation against the president of Miss Universe began after an anonymous complaint filed with the FGR in which Raúl “R” was accused of also trafficking weapons and then selling them to organizations such as the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) and the Tepito Union.

The newspaper also highlighted that the businessman approached the Prosecutor’s Office with the aim of requesting a criterion of opportunity and becoming a protected witness in the case, by negotiating the delivery of information and in exchange obtaining criminal impunity and avoiding persecution by the authorities.

Reform He mentions in his publication that the FGR tapped phones in December and, in multiple conversations, the name of Raúl Rocha was mentioned.

According to the information to which the newspaper had access, the investigations into the case revealed that the hydrocarbon smuggled from Central America was stored in two properties located in Querétaro, one linked to Rocha Cantú and which was searched on November 22, 2025, the same day that another search was carried out at a home in Mexico City, where documents on alleged contributions by the businessman to a criminal group were found.
