The mobilizations carried out by teachers in different states seek to reestablish the negotiating table with the federal government to address their demands.

“On Thursday we received information that a group of CNTE teachers wanted to demonstrate and block the National Palace. You experienced the last time: there were violent actions that perhaps were not from the teachers, but from some provocateurs. But what we seek is to avoid that,” he said at a press conference.
Sheinbaum Pardo added that the measure also seeks to protect the historic site and the police forces themselves. “We have a responsibility to take care of the National Palace, it is a historical monument, a symbol of our country, to prevent there from being a block of this type that uses violence against the Police, to protect even the Police themselves,” he said.
He recalled that, in a previous demonstration, several police officers were injured by fire caused by a small group of hooded people.
