Cold front 17 will approach Mexican territory during the afternoon and evening of this Saturday, according to the alert issued by Civil Protection.

Mexico City, November 29 (However).- The National Civil Protection Coordination (CNPC) alerted the population this Saturday because during the next three days they are expected rains y extremely low temperatures caused by the cold front number 17.

According to the forecast of National Weather Service (SMN)he cold intense will mainly affect the northern, northwest and eastern regions of the Mexican Republicwhile in the southeast of the country precipitation intense.

Given the possibility of a considerable drop in temperature and the presence of rain in several states of the country, Civil Protection authorities called on citizens to take the necessary measures to prevent damage to health and protect themselves in the event of an emergency.

What does the SMN predict?

According to the SMN forecast, during Saturday, November 29, Sunday, November 30 and Monday, December 1, adverse weather is expected in different regions of the country, caused by the presence of various weather systems.

During this Saturday, cold front 17 will approach the north and northeast of the country and will interact with other weather systems, which will cause:

  • Decrease in temperature in entities of the north, northeast and east of the Mexican Republic.
  • Wind gusts of up to 60 kilometers per hour in Coahuila, Nuevo Leรณn and Tamaulipas.
  • Very strong โ€œNorthโ€ event on the coasts of Tamaulipas and Veracruz.
  • Rains and showers in the Mexican southeast.

Measures to protect yourself from low temperatures

  1. Provide shelter for girls, boys, older adults and those who suffer from chronic illnesses.
  2. Do not expose yourself to sudden changes in temperature.
  3. Take extreme precautions against the possibility of strong winds, especially on the coast.
  4. Stay away from structures such as billboards or trees.
  5. Take extreme precautions due to frost and snowfall in mountain areas of Chihuahua and Durango.
  6. In case of rain, do not cross rivers, streams or flooded areas.
  7. Follow the instructions of Civil Protection personnel and local authorities.
