TEKAX.— Students from the Southern Regional Technological University (UTR Sur) publicly denounce alleged threats, ill-treatment and reprisals by managers, after protesting against conditions that they classify as “unfair and outrageous.”
The complaint—made on social networks by an anonymous participant—exposes practices that, they claim, have persisted during several administrations, but that, they claim, “they crossed a line”.
According to the complaint published on Tuesday in the Facebook group Let all Tekax knowa group of students was summoned by the director of the Tourism program and other managers.

The students report that they were forced to put their phones in “airplane mode” and practically to turn them off, “so that we could not have evidence of what they were telling us.”

Among other accusations, they point out that the students are used as an “ATM”: They are forced to sell tickets to events organized by the university.

They also accuse imposition of more expensive uniforms than normal – which in some groups were not necessary – and point out a lack of transparency in trips organized by the institution, which have been attended by people from outside the university, even with low alcohol consumption.
