TIZIMÍN, Yucatán.- Last night, Tuesday, an anonymous call was recorded to the 911 emergency number that generated a heavy police deployment in the Lázaro Cárdenas colony of Tizimin.
The report indicated that three subjects had been seen leaving a property on 63rd Street between 44-A and 46, apparently with backpacks, and that they had hidden in a vacant lot.
However, after an exhaustive search of the area, state and municipal police officers found no evidence of the presence of the alleged criminals.
Neighbors in the area claimed they had not reported any suspicious activity and denied having seen the subjects described in the report.
After verifying the situation and finding nothing that indicated the presence of outsiders in the area, the patrollers left the scene to continue their surveillance work in their respective sectors.
The Municipal Police of Tizimín called on citizens to report any suspicious or irregular activity to the emergency numbers, but also asked for responsibility when making reports to avoid false alarms that can distract authorities from real situations that require their attention.
