MEXICO CITY.- The Secretary of the Navy (Semar) announced this Tuesday the arrest of 54 individuals “breaking the law” in Colima, from whom weapons, ammunition, drugs, vehicles and properties were seized.

In a statement, Semar specified that the more than fifty detainees, already at the disposal of the authorities, were approached in different municipalities of Colima during the surveillance tours implemented as part of the Security Strategy.Sailfish 2025‘, what are you looking for reduce violence rates and strengthen citizen security in the state.

In the operation they seized, among others, short, white and artisanal weaponsa magazine and cartridges. As well as doses of different types of drugsproperties and vehicles.

The operation was possible thanks to the coordination of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), the Secretariat of Public Security of the State of Colima (SSP) and the Public Security Directorate (DSP) of Manzanillo, one of the municipalities in which the arrests were carried out.

The Secretary of the Navy vindicated its work to “strengthen the peace, security and well-being of Mexican families,” by working with “discipline, professionalism and respect for human rights.”

Since last February, the Government of Mexico, thanks to the ‘Operation Northern Border‘ – agreed with the president of the United States, Donald Trump, to avoid tariffs on Mexico – has detained more than 9,000 people and has confiscated almost 110 tons of drugs, including 494 kilograms of fentanyl.
