PLAYA DEL CARMEN.- Personnel from various corporations assured three boxes that contained green and dry vegetables with characteristics similar to marihuana, during research work carried out in Playa del Carmen.
The discovery occurred in a logistics center located in the western area of the city, where agents detected packages with unusual weight and characteristic smell.

According to the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Quintana Roothe agents assigned to the Prosecutor’s Office Specialized in Combating Drug Dealing Crimein coordination with elements of the Secretariat of National Defense, the National Guard and the Municipal Police, carried out investigative acts in the vicinity of Loros Avenue, near the Colosio and CTM avenues.
While they were exploring the area, they located three boxes that caught their attention due to their weight and packaging.

After carrying out the corresponding inspection, the authorities assured three blue cardboard boxestaped and plastered.
Each one weighed about 50 kilograms and it was registered in the name of a sender from Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán, with final destination to the municipality of Cozumel. The characteristics reinforced the suspicion that the packages contained drugs.

Subsequently, the boxes were made available to the corresponding authority for the integration of the research portfolio.
In addition, the content will be analyzed to determine the exact weight of the insured substance and locate those responsible for sending and receiving the packages.
Finally, the State Attorney General’s Office reiterated that it will continue strengthening operations and intelligence work to combat crimes against health.
