Thousands of residents of the capital gathered in the Historic Center of Mexico City to admire the fantastic creatures that walked the streets during the Monumental Alebrijes Parade and the 2025 Zombie March.
Mexico City, October 18 (However).- The streets of the Historic Center of the Mexico City (CdMx) were filled with color and tradition this Saturday thanks to the seventeenth Monumental Alebrijes Paradein which enormous fantastic creatures amazed the more than 50 thousand attendees.
Furthermore, within the framework of the celebrations for the Day of the Dead y Halloweencreepy beings took to the streets of the capital as part of the Zombie March 2025an event that brought together horror lovers.
These traditional events, which are held every year in the capital, brought together thousands of families from the capital, tourists, groups of friends and all kinds of people who gathered in some of the main avenues of the capital, such as Paseo de la Reforma and the vicinity of the Zócalo Capitalino.





Monumental alebrijes parade full of tradition streets of CdMx
This Saturday, more than 200 figures of fantastic beings walked through the main streets of the Historic Center of Mexico City as part of the seventeenth edition of the Monumental Alebrijes Parade, which brought together more than 50 thousand attendees, according to data from the capital’s Ministry of Culture.
This event is organized by the Museum of Popular Art (MAP) in collaboration with Bloomberg Connects, in order to exhibit the impressive works created by Mexican artists, which are a sample of the richness of popular art in our country.
Alebrijes of different sizes and shapes participated in this parade, which were created by artisans from CdMx, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Morelos, Puebla, Quintana Roo, San Luis Potosí, Tabasco and Tlaxcala; In addition, 400 volunteers participated.






The seventeenth Monumental Alebrijes Parade began around noon this Saturday, advancing along 5 de Mayo Avenue, then joining Juárez and continuing along Paseo de la Reforma, where thousands of people gathered early to witness the spectacle.
The contingent was led by the Music Band of the High Command Headquarters of the Secretary of the Navy, in addition to being accompanied by dance groups and musical groups.
It is worth mentioning that the winners of the first three places in the alebrijes parade-contest will receive an economic stimulus of 70 thousand pesos, 50 thousand pesos and 40 thousand pesos, respectively. In addition, a special incentive of 10 thousand pesos will be given to eleven works that received special mention.






Terror invades Mexico City with the 2025 Zombie March
On the other hand, thousands of horror lovers invaded the Paseo de la Reforma of CdMx on the occasion of the 2025 Zombie March, an event that has become a tradition that brings together thousands of capital residents within the framework of the celebrations for the Day of the Dead and Halloween.
Like every year, the participants in this peculiar event showed their creativity and love for terrifying characters with their peculiar costumes.
In addition to the traditional zombie costumes with bleeding wounds, exposed organs and terrifying appearance, some of the people who attended this march showed their ingenuity with outfits inspired by Mexican traditions, such as mariachis or wrestlers.
