Gerardo Fernández Noroña, Senador de Morena

Fernández Noroña argued that the PAN’s provocations have been permanent in the Senate, as well as the insults and lack of respect, acts for which he demanded consequences.

Mexico City, November 13 (However).- The Senator from Morena, Gerardo Fernández Noronahe asked on Wednesday the president of the Political Coordination Board (Jucopo) of the Senate of the Republic, Adam Augusto Lopez, delete to the National Action Party (PAN) of the meetings in said instance as long as the blue and white party does not respect the Plenary Session of the Upper House of the Congress of the Union.

Through a letter that circulated in different media, Fernández Noroña argued that the Parliamentary group of National Action has shown a behavior of permanent lack of respect for the Fullto the Board of Directors already Morenasince the beginning of the legislative period.

“Beyond the right of every legislator to speak whatever he wants on the platform, the PAN parliamentary group has not been content with launching false accusations of links with drug trafficking, maliciously pointing out such links to our ENTIRE parliamentary group without presenting a single piece of evidence, a very serious and absolutely disrespectful fact; it has gone further, permanently insulting, in particular and in general, colleagues in our movement,” the Senator expressed in the document.

“Likewise, the National Action bench has been characterized by being disrespectful in signs of mourning in which a minute of silence has been requested, for example, in the case of the death of Uruguayan President José Mujica. It was not the only time that it was disrespectful. In the same way, they have introduced megaphones to break up swearing-in sessions of diplomatic personnel and various federal government officials…”, the legislator insisted.

“In this framework and recognizing the right of National Action to participate in the Board of Directors and in the JUCOPO, I consider that they should not be called to any session of both instances, as long as the National Action bench maintains the behavior of not respecting the legal framework that governs the sessions of the plenary session of the Chamber of Senators,” he explained.

The official said in the letter that the provocations of the PAN have been permanent, as well as the insults and lack of respect, in addition to pointing out that there is a search by said parliamentary group to derail the sessions, for which he considered this attitude unacceptable and likely to have consequences.

Just last November 4, during a session in the Senate of the Republic, PAN member Lilly Téllez made reference to a broadcast in which Fernández Noroña cried from Palestine over the genocide of Israel, a situation that she compared to the murder of the mayor of Uruapan, Carlos Manzo, who was murdered on November 1.

“Let’s see, you, idiot, cry for Carlos Manzo, Noroña. Don’t be an idiot, really cry for Carlos Manzo. You, idiot, crying over there, doing a circus, while the Mexicans are being massacred, Noroña,” challenged Lilly Téllez from the gallery of the Senate.

But the PAN member’s insults have been a constant in the upper house of Congress, since in August 2025, when Fernández Noroña was serving as president of the Senate Board of Directors, Lilly Téllez called the Senator “traitor” and “coward, changoleón!”, because the legislator spoke out against a military intervention by the United States government in Venezuela.

“The only traitor is you,” responded the Senator from Morena, in addition to demanding that she not refer to him with a nickname, but the PAN member shouted at him: “you are going to hand over [Nicolás] “Maduro or is he going to defend Maduro.”
