Mexico City, November 24 (However).- Political scientists and influencers Barbara Castillo Laborde y Estefan Saldaña Gonzálezpromoters of the march to support the President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo the next December 6called on citizens to participate peacefully and consciously in the face of the climate of tension generated by opposition groups.
In an interview with Álvaro Delgado on the “Los Periodistas” program that is broadcast through the SinEmbargo Al Aire YouTube channel, Estefan Saldaña stated that the central objective is to “defend our President, defend her presidential investiture” and, at the same time, “defend an idea: that Mexico is a country where the people rule and the Government obeys.”
The lawyer also assured that the current mobilizations are part of a long tradition of social struggle that has marked the history of the country. “When the people walk together nothing stops them, they are always heard,” he remarked.
Estefan Saldaña stressed that the march must be carried out strictly “under a flag of peace”, avoiding any gesture of confrontation. “It is to tell the future that we are here and we are not going to let them decide from abroad or some foreign initiatives for us; here we Mexicans are in charge and we are supporting the President and all her domestic political actions,” he said.

Meanwhile, Bárbara Castillo Laborde explained that the call has generated a mix of reactions. “We have received all kinds of messages, both negative and positive. On the positive side, other groups have joined the march; people have the feeling of supporting the presidential figure, sovereignty, continuing with this change, this transformation.” However, he acknowledged that they have also had adverse comments “about what they are going to go and do.”
Regarding possible provocations, Saldaña González asked to remain calm and report any incident to the security teams. “We know that there will be some infiltrators who want to get among the contingents, who want to generate controversy among many of us who are going to go, but tell our colleagues not to fall into provocations… that it is better to put them at the disposal of the authorities,” he said.
Castillo Laborde insisted on the importance of defending the presidential investiture in the face of what he described as the destabilization intentions of certain groups. “These November 15 groups say they want to overthrow the Government; if we did not defend the presidential investiture, Mexico would really disappear… the moment there is a coup d’état, the country disappears completely and everything we know,” he warned.
Finally, he called for dimensioning the current democratic mandate: “Our President is the President with the most votes, and although there is a very small group that says ‘she does not represent me’, in reality she does represent them.”
This morning, President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed that citizens have been called to gather on December 6 in the Zócalo of Mexico City, with the aim of celebrating seven years since the beginning of the Fourth Transformation (T4), an event to which both young people and adults are invited.
“There is a lot of joy and there is a lot to celebrate on December 6 in the Zócalo,” said the federal president during her morning conference today, where, once again, she criticized the opposition’s attempts to create an idea on social networks that youth are angry with the Government.
From the National Palace, the President stated that, outside of cyberspace, people constantly express their support for the 4T due to the progress that has been achieved since 2018 as a result of the policies implemented in social, economic, health, education, etc., which has been demonstrated during her tours.
“I see it not only when I arrive, when we go to a city or a town. There is a lot to celebrate. Of course, our detractors do not want to celebrate, but there is a lot to celebrate because of what the country has changed this year,” highlighted Sheinbaum Pardo.
