Ermilo Barrera Novelo, Secretary of State Economyannounced that next week it will take place a new job fair in which 600 vacancies will be offered.

The official indicated that the event will be Wednesday the 26th at the Siglo XXI Convention Center, where companies will offer varied jobs for people from vulnerable social groups.

Barrera Novelo recalled that Yucatán has 440,307 formal jobs registered before him IMSS until October 2025. However, there are joint efforts between the private sector and the government to reduce informal work.

“In a complementary manner, jobs in the informal economy registered a reduction of 5.3% in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the third quarter of 2024, going from 74,589 to 70,607 (Source: MEITEF, 1 quarter 2025, Inegi).”

Other factors that reflect a favorable work environment in Yucatán is he increase in average salary what went from $485 to $520 per dayregistered with the IMSS, and the decrease in annual inflation, which went from 5.21% in September to 3.68% in November.
