MÉRIDA.- The Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena and his wifethe Honorary President of the DIF Yucatán, the Mtra. Wendy Meal Naalthey led a Physical Activation Macroclass which promotes the early detection of breast cancer, remembering that staying active is a way to take care of your health, raise awareness and save lives.

“I am very happy because today the color pink floods this space to give a powerful message: that life defends himself with consciencewith prevention, with union and with hope.”

“Seeing you here, in this physical activation macro class for World Breast Cancer Day, is a call to take care of our bodies, to take care of those we love and to strengthen the culture of prevention throughout Yucatan,” said the governor.

October is a special month

“This has been a transversal work; we have all joined together in this fight against breast cancer,” he emphasized.

“That’s why the motto says: Explore yourself, make it custom, make it tradition. Today more than ever we recognize the work of health professionals and promoters, who go house to house,” he stated.

He took advantage of the moment to point out that Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo has given instructions for the delivery of the new O’Horán Hospitalwhere the agreement with IMSS-Bienestar will be signed to strengthen health services in Yucatán.

During her intervention, the Honorary President of the DIF Yucatán System, Ms. Wendy Méndez Naal, warmly thanked the families who participated in this activity, held in collaboration with IDEY.

World Day to Fight Breast Cancer

The above within the framework of the World Day to Fight Breast Cancer and announced that, to close the Pink Agenda, on the 30th, 55 women will be supported with their breast prostheses.

He added that, cAs part of the Pink AgendaOn October 26, the Pink Race with a Cause will take place in Izamal, an initiative that unites sport, hope and solidarity.

The proceeds will be used for mammograms, oncological wigs, implants and breast prostheses, directly benefiting women who bravely face this fight.

“Enrique Baxir Saidén Isaac” Football League

Previously, at the General Salvador Alvarado Stadium, the governor inaugurated the seventh edition of the “Enrique Baxir Saidén Isaac” Football League 2025–2026.

There he reaffirmed his commitment to continue supporting local leagues, clubs and sports schools, with the firm intention that girls, boys and young people have more fields, more tournaments and more opportunities to demonstrate their talent.

Accompanied by the Director and Administrator of the Libanés Peninsular School, Margarita Saidén Ojeda, Díaz Mena recognized the Lebanés Peninsular School for its commitment to education and sports.

“It is in these spaces where the foundations of a healthy, supportive society with a spirit of improvement are built,” he stressed.
