JEERUSALEM, Israel.— This Sunday night, the Israeli army claimed to have “resumed implementation of ceasefire” in Gaza after the attacks he launched on the Strip throughout the day, in response to what he interpreted as a “violation” of the agreement on the part of Hamas.

In a brief statement, the Army explained that it made this decision following the instructions from the Israeli Governmentadding that it “will continue to implement the ceasefire agreement and will respond firmly to any violation of it.”

The Israeli bombings in turn caused dozens of deaths in various places in the Gaza Strip, including children and women and also a team from a production company that made live broadcasts for international media such as Al Jazeera.

They took place after clashes this Sunday morning in the Rafah area, southern Gaza and controlled by the Israeli Army, which resulted in the death of two Israeli soldiers.

These clashes allegedly occurred between a unit of the Gaza Government Policedependent on Hamas, and Israeli troops, but both Hamas and its armed wing disassociated themselves from them in separate statements.

In parallel, the Radea Forcea unit of the Hamas government police in Gaza dependent on his Ministry of the Interior, claimed to have carried out an operation in Rafah to hunt down Yasser Abu Shababthe well-known leader of an opposition militia that collaborates with Israel and settles in this area with its approval.

The operation took place within the framework of the persecutions that this unit has maintained throughout Gaza against different militias and clans that it accuses of collaborating with Israel.

Abu Shabab, for its part, did a live broadcast on its Facebook profile shortly after the fighting came to light, showing that it was fine.

He prime minister of israel, Benjamin Netanyahuheld a consultation with the minister of Defense, Israel Katzand other security authorities after which he ordered “to act vigorously against terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip.”

The Army later reported that it had carried out “dozens” of attacks in the Strip against “Hamas terrorist targets.”
