The FGR obtained a sentence of 20 years in prison against “El Cenizo”, identified as a Templar leader and accused of organized crime in Michoacán.
Mexico City, November 28 (However).- The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) sentenced this Tuesday to 20 years in prison a Ignacio Andrade Renteríaalias “The Ash”identified as one of the historical leaders of The Knights Templar y former member of the Michoacan Family.
The federal authority indicated that “El Cenizo” was related to the homicide of Carlos Rosales Mendozafounder of the Familia Michoacana, which occurred in December 2015 along with other criminal bosses.
The FGR reported that, through the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime, it obtained from the Eighth District Court in Michoacán based in Uruapan a conviction for organized crime in its form of crimes against health.
In its statement, the agency detailed that in June 2017 an arrest warrant was executed in Morelia against Ignacio “A”, who was detained in the Federal Social Rehabilitation Center number 14 in Durango and who was attributed to being the head of a criminal organization dedicated to kidnapping and drug trafficking with operations mainly in Uruapan.

Likewise, the agency recalled that before his capture he was considered one of the last Templar commanders after the death of Nazario Moreno and Enrique Plancarte, in addition to the arrest of Servando Gómez Martínez.
Since 2014, the then Attorney General’s Office had maintained a reward of 10 million pesos for data that would allow him to be arrested, due to his role as an operator in Uruapan.
It was not until today that the FGR confirmed that the Federal Public Ministry presented the necessary evidence for the judge to issue the sentence of 20 years in prison for organized crime.
