PLAYA DEL CARMEN.- The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Quintana Roo reported that eight men were linked to proceedings for crimes against health, in the form of drug dealing, after being presented before a Control Judge in Playa del Carmen.

The decision was made after the ministerial authority provided the necessary test data to support the accusations.

Detained during coordinated operations

The defendants were identified as César Alexis “N”, Rubisel “N”, Gregorio Nicolás “N”, Hipólito “N”, Juan José “N”, Juan Ricardo “N”, José Daniel “N” and a teenager.

All were detained through operations carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office, in coordination with the Secretariat of National Defense, the Secretariat of the Navy, National guardState Police and Municipal Police.

Accused of marijuana possession

The Judge determined to initiate proceedings against him for possession of marijuana for the purpose of supply.

Furthermore, it imposed the precautionary measure of justified preventive detention for up to two years, or the time that the corresponding judicial process lasts, due to the seriousness of the case.

Likewise, the authorities reported that those indicated also are under investigation for his alleged participation in the qualified homicide of a ministerial police officer.

This event occurred during the early hours of November 16 of this year, in Superblock 4A of the municipality of Benito Juárez.

Meanwhile, remain under guard of the judicial authority while the process is developing.
