TIZIMÍN.— Mayor Adrián Quiroz Osorio, together with his wife, Lina Fernández Alcocer, and the president of the Government and Political Coordination Board of Congress, recently inaugurated two domes that will benefit the communities of San Juan Km. 4 and Yaxchekú.

The first of these events was held at the San Juan Km. 4 police station, where the mayor highlighted that, in addition to being a fulfilled campaign commitment, there is a true will to serve. “Maintain that unity that as a police station distinguishes you and, for the good of San Juan, we will continue working together to obtain more and better results. Enjoy this dome, you deserve it; now girls, boys and young people will be able to practice sports and recreational activities without fear of the sun or rain,” said the mayor.

Despite the inclement weather, the municipal and state authorities, together with councilors Enrique Uc Barbosa and Juan Alcocer Polanco, unveiled the plaque commemorating this important event and, later, shared a meal with the community.

Next, the authorities went to the Yaxchekú police station, where they were already awaited by dozens of residents who accompanied them at the opening ceremony of their dome, which has two areas of stands and mesh fencing in the basket area, with the purpose of preventing the balls from heading towards the streets and causing possible incidents.

During the ceremony, the authorities heard the gratitude of the inhabitants and a historical review of the community’s first field, highlighting the sports evolution that this precinct has had in the men’s and women’s branches, especially in the disciplines of volleyball, baseball and soccer. In recent years, indoor football, soccer and basketball have been added, where their teams have excelled at the municipal level and have contributed valuable elements to state teams.
