Mexico City, October 22 (However).- Carnitas are one of the most distinctive dishes in all of Mexico, they are a great choice for lunch on Saturdays and Sundays or a taco for lunch during the week, they are also chosen for all types of celebrations, such as weddings, birthdays and any type of family reunion.
When it comes to carnitas, those from Michoacán have no comparison, even though they are prepared throughout the country and in different parts of the world. In Mexico there are several municipalities where you can enjoy them, which is why the Ministry of Tourism of Michoacán (Sectur) shared some cities that you should visit before the end of the year and enjoy this rich and emblematic Michoacan dish.

In Quiroga, known as “the capital of carnitas” of Michoacanin the main square of this city you will see historic stalls such as El Rey de las Carnitas or Carnitas Carmelo, where traditional variants are served: solid, assorted, rib, cuerito, both in taco and cake, ready to be accompanied by a soft drink. During your stay you can also enter the stores where you will see the different local crafts that are sold.


The Magic Town of Tacámbaro is not far behind and has its carnitas festival, typical garnishes, cultural atmosphere; It is one of the most famous places for its solid, assorted and leathery meat, an event with more than 100 tons of flavor. This festival takes place from November 14 to 16 of this year with the participation of more than 150 exhibitors offering different varieties of carnitas, prepared by local producers and from other regions of the state.




Huandacareo not only has its spas and water parks, it is a municipality with an excellent production of carnitas, in addition Santa Clara del Cobre, Morelia and Tarímbaro join this experience of flavor and quality that has led this Michoacan dish to receive the certification mark from the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI), which guarantees its authenticity, quality and origin.
