The Mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, and the Minister of Culture, Alessandro Giuli, traveled to the area to follow these works in person.
At the moment of the collapse, a dense cloud of white smoke emerged from the site and covered several meters around. As the cloud dissipated, it exposed debris on the street. According to official reports, the second collapse occurred at approximately 1:00 p.m.
The tower is located in one of the busiest points of the city due to its architectural beauty that matches the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, sites widely visited by international tourism.
