Christmas magic came to Plaza La Isla Mérida Cabo Norte Mallentertainment, wrapping every corner in an atmosphere full of magic, lights and smiles.

The “Heading to Christmas” mission concluded with great success after the long-awaited arrival of Santa Claus, who led the lighting of the Christmas tree in this shopping center, one of the most emotional moments of the night.
In the midst of vibrant colors, thematic figures, laughter and an atmosphere full of excitement, the square shone with a special light that marked the official start of the Christmas holidays.
Early on, dozens of families began to arrive, many of them accompanied by children who could not hide their excitement.
Between laughter, balloons and photographs, the little ones waited impatiently for the moment to see Santa.
The festive atmosphere was felt at every step: the hallways displayed decorations that evoked the Christmas fantasy, while the businesses added to the mood by decorating their windows and giving small experiences to those who passed by.
Shortly before 5 p.m., the energy of the place rose when Sunny and Meridio, the plaza’s official botargas, made their appearance on stage.
Both characters greeted the children with big stuffed animal hugs and began to dance, interact and throw candy to the audience.
That simple gesture unleashed laughter, runs and small jumps of joy among the attendees, generating a charming landscape of childhood and emotion.
While the last technical details of the show were being finalized, the characters took the opportunity to get closer to the families, pose for photos and keep the anticipation alive. The golden light of sunset was beginning to fall on the square, creating a perfect setting for what was to come.
Minutes later, Max, one of the main characters of the show, appeared to lead the “Heading to Christmas” mission. With a mix of humor, tenderness and dynamism, he took the little ones on an imaginary tour in which they met Santa’s elves and reindeer.
At each station, Max explained in a fun way what each one did, highlighting the importance of teamwork, solidarity and the joy of sharing.
In the elf workshop, the children discovered – through games and dialogues – that they all work shoulder to shoulder to create gifts for every little one in the world.
Later, Max took them to the space of the reindeer, who, he explained, strive day after day to be in the best possible condition to be able to pull Santa’s sleigh during its long Christmas journey.
The interaction sparked the imagination of many children, who asked questions, imitated elves or tried to walk like reindeer, while their parents watched with smiles.
Finally the most anticipated moment arrived: calling Santa Claus all together. Max asked the children to shout loudly so he could hear them from the North Pole. And so they did.
In a matter of seconds, the children’s voices rose like a choir full of emotion. When Santa finally appeared, dressed in his traditional red suit and with a big smile, the public received him with applause, shouts of surprise and even some jumps of joy.
Santa dedicated a few words to the children, inviting them to enjoy this season with love, to hug their family, to work as a team like the elves, to support each other like the reindeer and to value every little moment, just as Max does in his mission.
The climax of the night came with the countdown to lighting the Christmas tree.
The lights dimmed, gazes rose, and a collective emotion filled the air. “Three, two, one…!” was heard loud and clear.
At that moment, the tree and the entire square lit up in a burst of colors, bright lights and decorations that seemed to come to life. Those present reacted with applause, photographs, hugs and expressions of amazement, creating a moment that many described as magical.
Thus, between music, laughter, twinkling lights and the Christmas spirit that is already breathed in Mérida, Plaza La Isla Mérida welcomed one of the most beloved seasons of the year, inviting families to return, share and continue building memories that last a lifetime.— Ilse Noh Canché
