China exigirá licencias especiales a México, EU y Canadá para la exportación de precursores químicos de fentanilo

From now on, Mexico, the United States and Canada must have special licenses for the import of fentanyl chemical precursors from China, after the Asian country imposed new restrictions.

BEIJING, 10 nov (Xinhua).- China added today to United States, Mexico and Canada to the list of countries that require special export licenses for certain precursor chemicals.

The new rule, with immediate effect, was issued jointly by the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Emergency Management, General Administration of Customs and National Medical Products Administration.

The adjustment involves revising the management catalog of precursor chemicals for export to specific countries or regions, as well as the catalog of specific countries or regions, officially adding the United States, Mexico and Canada to the latter.

Additionally, 13 specific types of precursor chemicals were included in the management catalog, with the new controls explicitly focused on exports to these three North American countries.

Exporters must now apply for a license to ship controlled precursor chemicals to the United States, Mexico or Canada.
