TIZIMÍN.— In times when many family customs are being lost, the elected queen of the Kings Fair 2026, Nancy Guadalupe Cutiz Pechkeeps alive the celebration in honor of the baby Jesusinherited from his paternal grandparents and transmitted through generations.
The young woman, who will be crowned on December 30, explains that it is a family tradition, independent and deeply rooted in faith and community coexistence.
The story began with the paternal grandparents, who established the celebration after their death.

His father, Oswaldo Cutiz Kuyoc, He took on the responsibility and since he was single he performed a novena on December 25, but after marrying Antonia Pechic Mulkul The tradition gained greater strength.
“My paternal uncles joined in and also some close friends who year after year set aside their date to perform their novena, and with that the calendar was established from December 14 to 25,” he says.
The first four dates are dedicated to the posadas, in which the family and their devotees walk through three different houses, remembering the pilgrimage of Mary and Joseph.
The rest of the days the novena in honor of the baby Jesusaccompanied by rosaries, conviviality and carousing dances.
All dates have designated devotees, who have already received their reminders because each year the organization grows a little more.
