PROGRESO.– The Regional Port Captaincy of Progreso, dependent on the Secretary of the Navy (Semar), reported the closure of the port to minor navigation due to the meteorological conditions recorded this Sunday on the Yucatecan coast.

The warning was issued at 8:00 p.m. and indicates that the northwest winds present intensities of 27 to 28.7 km/h, with gusts of up to 37.78 km/h, as well as waves of 0.91 to 1.52 meters, cloudy skies, temperature of 25 °C and relative humidity of 82%.

According to the report from the Department of Maritime Meteorology, the meteorological traffic light is maintained with blue and yellow flagso it is recommended that larger vessels and tourist service providers stay informed and take extreme precautions.

The Captaincy urged the maritime and port community to closely monitor the evolution of climatic conditions, especially those who carry out activities in coastal areas, docks and navigation areas.

The notice was signed by the regional port captain, Master Armando Caballero Vázquez, acting as national maritime authority.
