The city of Kharkiv was also the target of “a massive attack”. “Dozens of people were injured in the city, including children,” said the Ukrainian head of state, indicating that the attacks also targeted Lviv, as well as the regions of Kiev, Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv and Dnipro.
“Each blatant attack on everyday life demonstrates that the pressure on Russia is still insufficient,” argued Zelensky, reinforcing the need for “effective sanctions” against Russia and the importance of assistance in combating Russian forces. “The top priority is air defense missiles, additional systems, expanded capabilities for our combat aviation and the production of drones to protect lives”, he specified.
“Russia must be held accountable for its actions, and we must remain focused on everything that strengthens us and allows us to shoot down Russian missiles, neutralize Russian drones and prevent attacks,” said the Ukrainian president.
However, the Russian air defenses claimed the shooting down of 65 Ukrainian drones over four regions of Russia, in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian attack, during the night, the largest number of kills occurred over the Black Sea, where 16 drones were neutralized.
Another nine Ukrainian drones were destroyed over the Sea of Azov, southern Ukraine.
