President Claudia Sheinbaum said this Thursday that she is evaluating the possibility of traveling to Washington on December 5 to witness the draw for the 2026 World Cup.
During his morning conference, Sheinbaum indicated that he is waiting for US President Donald Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney are confirmed to attend the eventand added that “depending on it I would attend the draw.”
When asked if she would take advantage of the visit to Washington to have a first in-person meeting with Trump, The President indicated that there was nothing concrete.

“We would see if it is the case of the possibility of a meeting, also in accordance with President Trump’s agenda”Sheinbaum said.
The 2026 World Cup will be held next summer in 16 cities in Mexico, the United States and Canada.
Security cooperation
Sheinbaum announced that the second meeting of the high-level group for security cooperation between Mexico and the United States will be held in Mexico after December 5. which was formed in September during the visit to the country of the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio.
The group’s first meeting was on September 26 in the border city of McAllen, Texas.

The group was created with the objective of monitoring bilateral cooperation actions to combat drug, arms and migrant trafficking and the illegal transit of fuel.
