Last night a man who harassed the President of the Republic, Claudia Sheinbaum, was arrested this Tuesday afternoon.while walking through the center of Mexico City on the way to an event of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP).
The video of the approach went viral and unleashed condemnations of all kinds, especially comments that questioned the President’s security device. It can be seen that the man approaches her, tries to kiss her and touches her without her consent.

The man, identified as Uriel “N”, was placed at the disposal of the Sexual Crimes Investigation Prosecutor’s Office of Mexico City.in the Doctores neighborhood and was accused of the crime of flagrant sexual abuse, according to the Penal Code of Mexico City.
This is what Sheinbaum said about the harassment episode
“We left, many people greeted us on the way, until this totally drunk person approached and experienced this episode of harassment. At the time I was talking to other people, I realized immediately, Juan José arrives, he is the one who coordinates the entire assistant team, he moves it and it is not until after I watch the videos that I realize what really happened,” Claudia Sheinbaum said during her morning conference this Wednesday.
The President said that she decided to file the complaint, because it was a situation that she experienced more than as President, as a woman. “I decided to file a complaint, because this is something that I experienced as a woman, but the women of our country experience it, I have experienced it before when I was not President, when I was a student, and as a young person.”

He also explained that these types of situations cannot be ignored.. “My reflection is if I don’t file the complaint, in addition to the fact that it is a crime, what condition are all Mexican women in? If they do this to the President, then what is going to happen to all the young women, women in our country.”
Sheinbaum shared that after harassing her, this guy was harassing other women on that same street where it happened to her.
