The National Meteorological Service (SMN), official climate source of the Government of Mexico, predicts for this Friday, October 24 rains in at least four states of the Mexican Republic.

Today, cold front no. 10 will tour the north of the countryassociated with the subtropical jet stream and a trough at mid- and upper levels of the atmosphere, will cause heavy occasional rains in Chihuahua (north and northeast) and Coahuila (north and northeast); Wind gusts of 65 to 80 km/h and possible whirlwinds and/or tornadoes in the north of Chihuahua and northwest of Coahuila.

A low pressure channel over the interior of the country, combined with the entry of humidity from the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, will favor intervals of showers in Veracruz (Las Montañas and Olmeca regions), Nayarit (north, center and south), Jalisco (west and south), Colima, Tabasco (west and center), Michoacán (center, south and coast) and Guerrero (north, coast and southeast).

South component wind (surada) from 20 to 35 km/h with gusts of 50 to 70 km/h in Coahuila (east), Nuevo León and Tamaulipas.

A second low pressure channel over southeastern Mexico and the Yucatan Peninsula in interaction with the entry of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea, in addition to tropical wave no. 39 that will move over the Gulf of Tehuantepec, will cause showers in Campeche (west) and Quintana Roo (south), with occasional heavy rains in Oaxaca (east, southwest and coast) and Chiapas (center and south).

Finally, an anticyclone at medium levels of the atmosphere will maintain a low probability of rain in the Mesa del Norte and the Mesa Central.

Showers and heavy rains could be accompanied by electric shocks and hail.

Rain forecast for today, October 24, 2025:

Showers with occasional heavy rains (25 to 50 mm): Chihuahua (north and northeast) and Coahuila (north and northeast); Oaxaca (east, southwest and coast) and Chiapas (south).
Shower intervals (5 to 25 mm): Veracruz (Las Montañas and Olmeca regions), Nayarit (north, center and south), Jalisco (west and south), Colima, Michoacán (center, south and coast), Guerrero (north, coast and southeast), Tabasco (west and center), Campeche (west) and Quintana Roo (south).
Isolated rain (0.1 to 5 mm): Sinaloa, Durango, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, State of Mexico (southeast and southwest), Puebla and Morelos.

Heavy rains could reduce visibility, increase the levels of rivers and streams, and generate ponding, landslides and flooding.

Gusts of wind could cause trees and advertisements to fall.
