The decision of the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, to travel to Washington to participate in the draw for the 2026 World Soccer Championship, in its trilateral version, has been described by public opinion as a success.
On Friday, December 5, at the Kennedy Center in Washington, the first trilateral meeting of the presidents of the United States, Mexico and the Prime Minister of Canada took place. The rulers of North America have close ties in trade, immigration and sports matters, among many other issues.
For the first president of Mexico, this first face-to-face meeting with the president of the United States, Donald Trump and the second with the Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney, was excellent. In his X account he wrote “We agreed to continue working together, on commercial issues with our teams.”
Trump declared to the press that Sheinbaum is a good woman who is doing her job well and took the opportunity to invite her to an official visit to the United States and she, in turn, invited him to visit Mexico.
The business sector works in coordination with the Ministry of Economy.
Pedro Haces, coordinator of Morena’s Political Operation in the Chamber of Deputies, recognizes that we are in good hands with Marcelo Ebrard on the issue of the renegotiation of the T-MEC.
Dr. Sheinbaum had circumvented the relationship with Trump by telephone and by letter with short-term results, due to each threat from her North American counterpart.
A fundamental fact is that Mexico must have a good relationship with our neighbor country to the north. And for our Chief Executive, the relationship with Trump is high risk, therefore, we must set a date for the next face-to-face meeting.

- With ambitious goals for 2030, the plastic sector seeks to ensure that all of the country’s containers and packaging are recyclable, reusable, compostable or usable, and to increase the collection of PET to 80%, in addition to reaching 45% in other plastics. By the way, the progress of the National Agreement for the New Plastics Economy stands out here, where one of the signatories is the National Association of Plastic Industries (ANIPAC), chaired by Benjamín del Arco, and that 61% of the participating companies have made large investments in infrastructure dedicated to collection and recycling processes, in addition to implementing redesign measures, acquiring technology and developing management plans.
- The announcement of Ensenada Bay Village reflects renewed ambition for tourism in Baja California. The participation of Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Lines; Mauricio Hamui, director of ITM Group; and Jorge Magno Lecona, representative of Hutchison Ports, supports a project that exceeds 26 million dollars in investment. The complex’s offering aims to differentiate Ensenada through activities that attract visitors more willing to explore and consume local products. The attractions include zip lines, water tours and tastings of traditional elements, which expands the cruise passenger’s experience and places the city in competition with other Pacific destinations that are committed to more immersive and personalized concepts.
