In a series of nightly drone strikes, Ukraine has targeted several strategic fuel depots in Russia. The Tambov region was particularly affected, where a serious fire broke out. The region’s governor, Yevgeny Pervyshev, confirmed via Telegram that a facility in the region was affected by a fire that broke out as a result of the attacks. Security forces and rescue units were quickly on the scene to bring the situation under control, but details of the damage caused are still missing.

Media sources reported an attack in the town of Dmitriyevka, around 50 kilometers northwest of the capital of the Tambov region. Published images show significant fire effects in the affected camp. The Kiev General Staff, which took responsibility for the attack, confirmed the fire that hit several tanks. The target of the attacks, it is said, are military supply facilities of the Russian armed forces.

Damage was also found at an oil depot in the nearby Voronezh region. A downed drone is said to have caused minor damage to several fuel tanks, as Governor Alexander Gussev announced. Fortunately, there were reports that no fire broke out and there were no injuries.

The Russian Defense Ministry kept quiet about damage, only mentioning the defense against 102 Ukrainian drones in the Astrakhan, Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Rostov, Saratov and Voronezh regions. Interestingly, Tambov was not mentioned in the official announcements. As Russia continues to carry out attacks on Ukraine, Kiev is working to weaken Russian infrastructure through the targeted use of drones.
