According to records of the National Seismological Service (SSN)Mexican institution in charge of monitoring seismic activity in Mexico in real time, The state of Chiapas recorded seismic activity during the early hours of November 2.
The SSN operates a network of seismological stations distributed throughout the country that send data continuously and in real time to an analysis center to determine the date, time, magnitude, epicenter and depth of earthquakes.
Tremors recorded yesterday
On November 1, the state of Chiapas recorded at least three earthquakes greater than magnitude 3.5. The first of these earthquakes occurred at 02:22 hours, 62 kilometers southwest of Tonalá, and had a magnitude of 3.9. Hours later, at 07:55 a.m., an earthquake of magnitude 3.9 was recorded 124 km southwest of the same town, and at 10:54 a.m., again 41 km southwest of Tonalá, another tremor of magnitude 3.8 occurred.
At 11:42 a.m., an earthquake of magnitude 4.4 was recorded 20 km northwest of Cintalapa, and another one occurred 26 km west of Motozintla, at 2:17 p.m., of magnitude 4.
