Workers who were carrying out drainage work in Lake Alberto punctured a gas pipe

Mexico City. -A large explosion was prevented in the mayor’s office Miguel Hidalgoafter workers mistakenly drilled a natural gas pipeline on Lago Alberto Street and its intersection with Lago Xochimilco.
At the site it was learned that the guys were carrying out excavations in the place to place drainage pipes, but they found the duct and upon seeing the gas leak They ran away from the area.
It was nearby merchants and residents of Colonia Anáhuac who reported a strong smell of fuel to the emergency services and fortunately they arrived in time to cordon off the excavation area.
Elements of the Heroic Fire Department and Civil Protection worked for more than thirty minutes on containment and ventilation tasks, until they were able to seal the damaged duct.
Although no injuries or major damage were reported because it happened late at night, the incident caused an intense mobilization of emergency units.
Meanwhile, the person responsible for the work was arrested and taken to testify to the Public Ministry to determine responsibilities.
NIGHTMARE
Several nearby streets were closed during the work, which generated alarm among the inhabitants of the sector.
