Mexico City. -A violent beating of two thieves occurred in the community of The Plainlocated in San Martín Cuautlalpan, municipality of Chalcowhere a group of neighbors intercepted two men who were trying to escape on a motorcycle after trying to commit a robbery. After the neighborhood complaint, more than one hundred residents organized to arrest the suspects, which led to a lynching.
According to witnesses, the crowd disarmed them, beat them viciously and, at that moment, some residents asked to be set on fire.
After they tied them both up, they poured gasoline on them and set fire to one of them, who burned to death in front of the mob and next to a motorcycle.
The second individual was seriously injured and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is in critical condition.
Despite the seriousness of the incident, so far local authorities and the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico They have not issued any official statement regarding what happened, which has generated concern among the residents of the area, who also tried to attack the mutiny of officers who came to the rescue of the thieves.
In this regard, the investigations remain open and it is expected that in the next few hours the corresponding authorities will release additional details about the causes of the confrontation and the legal actions that will be taken against the inhabitants involved.
