Regarding the work, Andrés Lajous, head of the Railway Transport Regulatory Agency (ARTF) indicated that it will include 136.48 kilometers of single track that will coexist with the current freight track, in addition to including slopes every 20 kilometers to facilitate the crossing of trains.

- New Laredo (terminal principal)

- Anahuac
In turn, he reported that The units will reach speeds between 160 to 200 kilometerswhich will allow connect Monterrey with Nuevo Laredo in less than 2 hoursand Saltillo with the border in around 3 and a half hours.

The federal official added that The work will generate more than 10,900 direct jobs and 32,700 indirect, and will have an infrastructure that will include:
- 52 railway bridges
- 108 drainage works
- 42 vehicular passages to guarantee continuous and safe circulation
