Argentine football remembered this Tuesday Diego Armando Maradona, who died five years ago, amid requests for justice from the star’s family, who blames his medical team for his death.
The one who many consider the best footballer in history died at the age of 60 on November 25, 2020 while recovering from neurosurgery at his home in Buenos Aires.
Eight members of the legendary Diez’s medical team are accused of homicide with possible intent, a figure that implies that they were aware that their actions could cause the death of the patient.
“Only those who are forgotten die and you, Diego, we remember you every day,” published the Argentine team, with which Maradona was world champion in Mexico 1986, on the social network X.

Dozens of clubs and players commemorated the idol with emotional messages and videos, for whose fifth anniversary of death no official tributes are planned.
Boca Juniors, a team of which the left-hander was a fan and from which he retired in 1997, published a video in which people are seen leaving offerings to his statue at the La Bombonera stadium in Buenos Aires.
“People pass, days, months and years pass. Everything passes, except you, who are always here,” said Xeneize in a message.
Argentinos Juniors, the club in which he debuted, and the Italian Nápoles, whom he led to glory in the late 1980s, also remembered him with heartfelt posts on their social networks.
For its part, Italian and Spanish football also remembered the attacker.
Two of Maradona’s daughters, Dalma and Giannina, asked for “justice” for their father’s death.
The same thing that is being investigated in the Argentine courts and has had fictional overtones.
The first trial was annulled in May due to the participation of one of the judges in a clandestine documentary about the process. The new litigation will begin next March.
“You dad are going to get the justice you deserve, I promise you,” Dalma Maradona wrote on her networks.
