He sixth councilor of Chalco, Christian Jesús “N”, who had been reported missing since November 20, He was arrested during the early hours of this Friday, confirmed the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM).

The institution reported that Castillo Grimaldo, also identified as Christian Jesús “N”, alias “Gimmy” or “Jimy”, was captured in compliance with an arrest warrant as part of the second phase of Operation “Caudal.”

According to the authorities, it was considered a priority objective due to its alleged relationship with criminal activities linked to the illegal extraction, distribution and marketing of water in the entity.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the councilor is also being investigated for his probable participation in crimes of kidnapping, extortion and dispossession, among others.

After his arrest, the councilor was admitted to the Nezahualcóyotl Penitentiary Center, where he was at the disposal of the judicial authority.

The capture occurs after the mayor was reported as missing since November 20. That day, according to the search form issued, he was last seen in Tlalmanalco, dressed in black tennis shoes, blue jeans and a black t-shirt.

The news of his disappearance generated a protest by sympathizers outside the Chalco Command Center, who demanded that he be found alive.

His name had gained notoriety months ago, when in August he suffered an attack in the community of San Gregorio Cuautzingo, from which he was unharmed. That day, two men traveling on a motorcycle shot him while he was driving his Mazda vehicle on the Chalco-Cuautzingo highway. Both attackers were arrested by elements of the state Security Secretariat.
