The SEP reported that it launched the initiative Seeing is dreaming, which contemplates the delivery of two million glasses to childrenafter the results obtained through the Health Conferences and within the framework of the national strategy Live healthy, live happy, with which it was detected that four out of every 10 primary school students have visual acuity problems.

Through a statement, the Ministry of Public Education indicated that with this initiative Two million glasses will be delivered free of charge to students in all public primary schools throughout the country with a diagnosis of visual problems during the 2025-2026 school year..
In this sense, the agency stated that With the delivery of these glasses, practically all children who require them will be coveredso that their academic performance is not affected by visual limitations.

Therefore, he urged mothers, fathers and families who have already received the Report of Results of the Health Evaluation of their children – which indicates the detection of visual acuity problems – to go to a clinic for a second evaluation with an optometrist and, if necessary, receive the lenses completely free of charge.
He added that, by providing glasses to primary school students, barriers that affect learning are eliminated and educational equity is promoted, “because no child should be left behind because of this.”
