The political crisis in Tecámac, State of Mexico, is an example of the push and pull of the power groups of that entity heading towards the 2029 elections! and it is observed as an attack against the senator and former mayor of Tecámac, Mariela Gutiérrez, in which Horacio Duarte has been identified as one of the operators.
In the federal government they had already considered that the Secretary General of the Government of Edomex was spending more time in local grids than in addressing the entity’s problems, so it was not surprising that he was accused of having personally led to the resignation of Olga Molina Hernández and Adrián Pérez Guerrero, treasurer and secretary of this municipality.
But, according to versions of those involved in that Mexican episode, the pressure to present his resignation became complicated, the relatives and followers of the officials realized that something, apparently irregular, was happening that afternoon of Wednesday, November 19, and they blocked the Mexico-Pachuca highway… his resignation was not achieved, despite the comments of those who pressured them, that he was going to lose the friendship of the governor, so on Friday, November 20, they had to be dismissed.
This adjustment not only hits Mariela’s group, an ally of the licensed senator, Higinio Martínez – who has already announced that he will return to his seat in the Senate in January 2026 and will tour the 125 municipalities -, but it also benefits National Action and PRI groups that had already participated in municipal politics, but who return at the hands of the Morenista and ex-PRI mayor and ex-PAN, Rosa Yolanda Wong, and Mariela’s ex-husband Gutiérrez, now operator of one of the groups in dispute, Carlos Galindo Bertaud.
On Saturday, a council meeting was called to cover those spaces and to be able to meet, the mayor relied on the ninth councilor, PRI member Carlos Orozco; the proposals that were rejected by the Morenista councilors among other arguments because the candidate for treasurer, the PAN member Rodrigo Paredes, is in litigation with the City Council, and it could be the case that he would cover a payment himself, if he won.
These clashes between groups have distracted the Mexican administration from what is essential, which is to attend to and solve the problems of security, water, and road and hospital infrastructure, a job that the federal government has had to do, because the work of both Governor Delfina Gómez and the mayors could not be seen.
The delivery of the paving trains in the 10 priority municipalities last week, by the federation, has to do with the lack of political operation, as it is one of the main demands that had not been addressed so far in this state administration, nor by the municipal administrations…
The “movie” or “political novel” in Edomex is interestingly observed, where the teacher whose students turned their backs on him, returns with new disciples.

And while the beatings and jostling in Edomex focus on Tecámac, the state leader and coordinator of the Green Party in the local Congress, José Alberto Couttolenc, is already walking as a pre-pre-candidate for the state government… Another open front for Don Horacio, who is aspiring to be in the teacher’s place.
