But, as already mentioned in this text, the Chocolate Hall is not just made of sweets. From Portugal, there are unique flavors, made in Setúbal. These are the oils and vinegars from the couple Isabel Carrera and Frederich Chaix. The businesswoman guarantees that the products are 100% Portuguese and natural. “The tangerine one is with fruit from my farm, the fig one is with fruit from Fundão and the raspberries are from Alentejo”says Isabel.
The few things that are imported are, for example, Madagascar vanilla, which is a vinegar flavor. In the olive oils, produced in Trás dos Montes, some of the “seasonings” are basil and garlic.
Following the non-sweet route, there are spice-only stands – some of them used in chocolates, all types of nuts, Arabic sandwiches and other products that seem unlikely in a chocolate salon, such as roses from South Americale other more obvious things around the country, such as the foie gras.
Ending with chocolate, the fair features everything from the most sophisticated of star chefs who run the kitchens of five-star hotels to the most rustic chefs made in a family way in the French countryside. To top it off, the Sugar lovers are still exposed to all kinds of Swiss nougats, jellies, pistachios in various forms, ice creams, marmalades and sweet apples. – the strawberry of love hasn’t arrived there yet.
