Coyotepec registers a problem that is not very visible, but has a high impact, the environmental crimes derived from wastewater discharges, accumulation of garbage in the local dam and the operation of clandestine dumpsites that remain active despite multiple citizen complaints.

Even the municipal diagnosis itself recognizes that the dam is affected by discharges and accumulation of garbage, a problem that threatens the health and quality of the water in the area.
However, beyond the administrative files and complaint forms available online, there is no evidence that the authority has applied exemplary sanctions, closures or effective actions that would stop these practices.
