Algeria and Sudan play in the fourth group in the Arab Cup, which also includes Iraq and Bahrain.
The Algerian national team coach, Madjid Bougherra, confirmed that the match with his Sudanese counterpart will be difficult in light of the high technical and physical capabilities of the competitor, who is competing in this tournament with great motivation.
Bougherra pointed out that the two teams had previously faced each other in the African Cup of Nations for local players last August, and each of them knows the other’s playing style very well.
On the other hand, Ghanaian Kwasi Appiah, coach of the Sudanese national team, confirmed that his team seeks to achieve a strong start in the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 when it faces its Algerian counterpart.
Appiah said in his statements at the press conference – published by the Qatar News Agency (QNA) – “We are seeking a strong start against one of the strongest teams in the tournament, and we are looking forward to presenting an honorable level that reflects the value and status of the Sudanese team, as well as the importance of this tournament that brings together the elite Arab teams in an ideal atmosphere.”
He added that the tournament includes strong teams that have a history, great potential, and an advanced technical and organizational level, and this represents a real challenge, pointing to the readiness of his players and their great desire to achieve a positive result against the Algerian team.
