The Judiciary Police arrested the suspect in the death of the North American tourist who was found in the early hours of this Wednesday (October 15) stabbed and dead in Cascais, on Rua Afonso Sanches.
From what DN found, the detainee is a Portuguese citizen with no criminal record and who worked in a nightlife establishment close to the crime scene.
The suspect, a 23-year-old man, is strongly accused of committing two crimes of murder, one in the completed form and the other in the attempted form, both carried out using a bladed weapon, having victimized two tourists of North American nationality, aged 35 and 33, the second of whom ended up dying.
“The facts occurred in the context of an altercation that arose for apparently futile reasons, between the aggressor and the two victims, initially only verbally and then with physical attacks, which motivated the defendant, now located and detained, to use a bladed weapon that he kept stored inside the motor vehicle he was using, to seriously hit the two victims”explains the PJ in a statement sent to newsrooms.
