CDMX. The premiere of the last season of Stranger Things is getting closer. It will be on November 26 when the first part is released, and to say goodbye in style to this series that marked an entire generation, Netflix will bring an immersive experience to CDMX so fans can travel directly to Hawkins and the Upside Down.
It is about Stranger Things: The Experiencean interactive attraction in which travelers will tour iconic scenes that have appeared throughout the history of Eleven and her friends. This concept has already been a success in cities such as London, Los Angeles and New York. During the experience you can enter the Hawkins Laboratory, visit Scoops Ahoy, explore the Byers house. They will soon announce the place where it will be held, as well as when it will be available in CDMX.
It’s been almost ten years since Stranger Things landed on Netflix to change the history of television. And now, the beginning of the end is near. On November 26, Hawkins will reopen the doors of the Upside Down for the last time
When we talk about series that marked an era, many mention Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead. But Stranger Things is worth taking into account. That story that was born almost by accident on July 15, 2016, created by the Duffer brothers, became a cultural phenomenon that defined a generation. A look at the 80s, Spielberg’s cinema, Stephen King’s terror and the purest friendship. A cocktail of nostalgia, fear and excitement that no one saw coming
Now, the platform is preparing its last major television event. A closing that promises emotions at the level of a Marvel Studios blockbuster. And the first official trailer for Stranger Things 5 has made it clear that the ending will be something we will remember for decades.
The official trailer, released a few days ago, already exceeds 15 million views on YouTube, and continues to generate conversation on social networks.
The trailer plays to the rhythm of “Who Wants to Live Forever” by Queen, a choice that is not accidental. Its lyrics—a meditation on mortality and loss—anticipate the inevitable. Hawkins won’t survive what’s coming, and not all of the heroes will make it out alive. Destruction seems imminent, and the air of farewell weighs as much as the dust of the Upside Down.
In statements, the Duffer brothers assured that they have known how the story ends for more than six years. They promise an “emotional and forceful” closure, and confirm that this season will answer the two great unknowns that have been with us since the first episode:
“What really is the Upside Down and why did they take Will Byers?”
Additionally, the Duffers admitted that it was very difficult to decide which characters would die. “We wanted it to feel real, to make every loss hurt.” The cast’s farewell was, according to what they say, deeply emotional. “It was like closing a stage of our lives,” they confessed. They also pointed out that we are not prepared for the new episodes, as they will be the most violent and emotional we have seen so far.
The trailer also reveals what many suspected. Vecna is back. Stronger and more monstrous. His connection with Will Byers will be one of the axes of the season, and the moment in which the villain whispers to him “you will help me one last time” has unleashed hundreds of theories. Could Will be the final link between both worlds? Or is his sacrifice the price to close the Upside Down
The truth is that Stranger Things has reached a visual and narrative level that rivals the best Hollywood films. The epic, the terror and the heart beat stronger than ever in this last journey.
Netflix has confirmed that the final episode will also be released in theaters in the United States, turning the outcome into a global event. Because Stranger Things It is no longer just a series, it is a global phenomenon that will take a lot to say goodbye to.
Because the series wasn’t just a story about monsters, but about growing up, losing, loving and resisting.
And when it’s over, when the portal finally closes, if it closes, Hawkins will be left behind… but all the way to the end, it will have been worth every millisecond of our time.
