Signo Hospitality is continuing its expansion course in Germany with the takeover of the former Intercity Hotel in Essen. The company plans to convert the hotel into a Spark by Hilton, a brand positioned in the premium economy segment. This transformation is part of a comprehensive renovation designed to make the hotel a modern and functional destination for business and leisure travelers.
The hotel’s central location at Hachestrasse 10, between the train station and Essen city center, offers excellent connections for travelers. Once renovations are complete, the hotel will offer 168 rooms, four modular meeting rooms for up to 180 people, as well as a restaurant and bar. These facilities are designed to meet the needs of both business travelers and tourists.
The Spark by Hilton brand, which was only launched internationally in 2023, has quickly established itself in the market. With currently 200 hotels worldwide, it offers an attractive combination of modern, comfortable and functional rooms at competitive prices. This strategy particularly appeals to price-conscious travelers who still value quality and comfort.
Signo Hospitality, which already operates several hotels in Germany, is pursuing a clear expansion course. The company recently opened the boutique Hotel Flesslers in Lenggries, Bavaria. The takeover and conversion of the Essen hotel is a further step in this strategy. The completion of the takeover was supported by Christoph Härle from Härle Hotel Solutions and Tina Froböse from Select Hotelconsulting GmbH.
Isabelle Reichhardt will be the new director of Spark by Hilton Essen and will also oversee the new FOUR Essen City Center. This personnel decision underlines Signo Hospitality’s commitment to recruiting experienced managers for its projects and thus ensuring the success of the hotels.
