The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, condemned this Sunday morning the “vile murder” of the municipal president of Uruapan, Michoacan, Carlos Manzo.
Through a publication on her official X account, the president stated that there will be no impunity for the crime that took the mayor’s life, during a Day of the Dead celebration.

“Today I convened the Security Cabinet to guarantee support for Michoacán and that there is no impunity. The territorial Defense and National Guard commanders maintained communication with the mayor and had federal protection,” he indicated.

By condemning “with absolute firmness the vile murder of the municipal president of Uruapan, Carlos Manzo,” the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, reported that the mayor maintained communication with the federal security forces and had federal protection.
Through a message on social networks, he expressed his condolences to the family and loved ones, as well as to the people of Uruapan “in the face of this irreparable loss.”
He noted that, from the moment this serious fact became known, “I spoke with the governor of Michoacan (Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla) and the secretary of Security and Protection Citizen, Omar García Harfuchwho has maintained constant communication with the state prosecutor.”
