President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo reported in her morning conference this Thursday that the federal government will strengthen the verification mechanisms of the National Registry of Professionals, after recent cases of false professional identification cards were detected, used in procedures before the Tax Administration Service (SAT).
“The security of the professional license is being strengthened to guarantee the identification of the photograph digitally”, Sheinbaum highlighted.

The President added: “There were some recent cases of false professional identification cards that were found in the SAT. They used the name of a well-known person. “The SAT immediately identified him and withdrew the RFC registration of a person who wanted to register with a known name and had another photograph.”
Sheinbaum explained that, based on this situation, It was decided to reinforce the digital verification mechanisms, given that the professional ID functions as an official identification.
“If it is an official identification like that of the INE, for example, it can be verified with the INE. At the request of the SAT, the INE can confirm whether or not a photograph corresponds to a personbased on established agreements,” he pointed out.
