It is better to threaten than to feel threatened. It is better to intimidate before they intimidate you. That is the tactic that Russian President Vladimir Putin is using.
First was the launch of the 9N730 nuclear missile. It happened a few days ago. Its capacity is lethal: it has a range of more than fifteen thousand kilometers and is undetectable. It has a modern autonomous inertial guidance and orientation and interference system. And it is capable of evading many missile defense zones of a potential enemy.
The trial marked a turning point. Everyone raised their voices—starting with the United States—but Putin paid no attention.
Now we have learned about the new and powerful Sarmat ballistic missile. This missile is unparalleled in the world and is capable of reaching hypersonic speeds, changing its trajectory in course and height so that no defense system can intercept it. Its range is eighteen thousand kilometers and its payload is ten tons.
In both cases, the discoveries of Putin’s arsenal are shocking.
He does all this at a time when everyone looks very suspiciously at Vladimir Putin and Russia. Of course, the empire of the tsars has pulled out its nails in time. It doesn’t seem like anyone wants to have a war with such a deadly enemy. It has more than six thousand nuclear warheads, the vast majority of which are lethal.
Russia is in no hurry with anything or anyone. The war with Ukraine seems like it could drag on forever. And Putin can wait. You have more to gain than lose.
