The British Prince Andrewson of the Queen Elizabeth II, resigned this Friday from his royal titlecornered by scandals, mainly that of his friendship with the American sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
“After talking with him rey [Carlos III, su hermano] and with my family, we have concluded that the constant accusations towards me harm the work of His Majesty and the Royal family“said the prince in a statement.
“I have decided, as I always have, to prioritize my duty to my family and my country,” he added.

Andrew, 65, thus loses his title of duke of york effective immediately, after falling into disgrace for his closeness to Epstein, the American financier found dead in prison in 2019 before he could be tried for sexual crimes.
The queen’s third son had already had to withdraw from public life after a scandalous television interview in 2019, in which he showed no regrets about his friendship with Epstein. nor the slightest empathy for the victims of the American financier.
Revelations about her relationship with Epstein continue to come to light, especially with the upcoming publication of a posthumous book, extracts of which have already been published in the press.
In it, American Virginia Giuffre recounts the encounters she claims to have had with him when she was only 17 years old.
Giuffre, who committed suicide in April at age 41, had initiated legal action against Andrés in 2021.
The prince has always denied accusations of sexual assault and avoided a trial in New York by paying several million dollars.

Since November 2019 he has not played any public role and lost his military titles and royal patronages in 2022.
However, Andrew will retain his title of prince as he is the son of Queen Elizabeth II.
