By assuming the delicate commitment of being a candidate for the highest office in the Nation, António José Seguro reveals his conviction that, despite ten years of his voluntary withdrawal from political action, he has the knowledge and authority to perform the duties of President of the Republic.
The idea of defining concepts, with the purpose of making them precise, the boldness of proposing solutions to the problems that most concern families and the fact of knowing how to listen to citizens in close proximity, transmit to the candidacy, coherence and decency, essential for the exercise of presidential functions. Despite everything, it is necessary to highlight the differences that exist compared to the arrogance of other candidates.
What awaits us as a country is a radically more complex future development, with truly scientific economic doctrines violating the natural spaces of human rights.
There must therefore be a President of the Republic, who can actively protect these rights, which are of paramount importance for all citizens to be involved in the development of a Portugal of opportunities.
The social reality in Portugal is embarrassing for the majority of Portuguese people, the feelings of ease that the other candidacies convey, some more warmongering, others incapable of gaining credibility, often excessive and with a handful of nothing, condemn their users to a spectacle that can become tragic.
When we recognize pluralism, we know that there are significant differences in attitudes and true convictions, which are fundamental in political action. Models of President of the Republic on impulse or improvised, Portugal does not need, because they generate conflicts with unpredictable consequences. It cannot be repeated enough that fanaticism is always evil and incompatible with the objective of a social order that values diversity.
Giving Portugal a direction is an arduous mission, but at the same time a challenge, it is the path to progress, valuing solidarity between people and social justice.
False propaganda harms us all and does not solve the problems we face in our daily lives with promises of changes and consensus that do not materialize.
That’s why it makes sense to choose a candidate of unquestionable merit and honor in the presidential elections.
