Speaking to journalists this morning, October 14, the Attorney General of the Republic, Amadeu Guerra, dismissed any possible differences between the PGR and magistrates from the Central Department of Investigation and Criminal Action (DCIAP). “There is no disagreement between us, what we are determined to do is finish this preventive investigation and that is what we are doing. There is no difference between me and the DCIAP magistrates”, he said.

The statement was made on the sidelines of the conference on cybercrime, one of the events marking the 80th anniversary of the Judiciary Police (PJ). At issue is news reported by CNN/TVI about differences between the PGR and prosecutors in the case of Spinunviva, owned by Prime Minister Luís Montenegro, that some prosecutors consider it necessary to open a criminal investigation into the Prime Minister, the final word of which would be from Amadeu Guerra.

Rui Cardoso, director of DCIAP, alongside Amadeu Guerra, made statements to the same effect. “What I can emphasize is that there is no divergence, there is total harmony. There has been constant communication between the magistrates in the case, who are not many magistrates, there is a prosecutor”, explained Rui Cardoso.
