A 58-year-old man, from Penafiel, will await trial in pre-trial detention after violating the previous coercion measure applied on suspicion of having attacked a neighbor with a metal disc brushcutter, announced this Saturday, October 18th, the GNR.
O The incident occurred on April 26, in the parish of Guilhufe, in a dispute between neighbors, which resulted in serious injuries to the leg of the other man, aged 59.due to the ownership of land, explained to Lusa a source from Guarda.
During the process, the detainee saw coercive measures being applied to him prohibiting him from contacting the offended party and prohibiting him from traveling to the scene of the events, recalls the GNR statement.
The suspect was detained again on Thursday, after the military found that “violated the coercive measures imposedhaving threatened the offended party”, adds the press release.
“Given the seriousness of the facts and the suspect’s repeated conduct, as well as the actual risk to the victim’s safety, the individual was arrested,” notes the Guard, recalling that the man has “a criminal record for committing illicit acts of the same nature”.
Present to the judge of the Judicial Court of Penafiel on the same day, the coercive measure of preventive detention was applied to him, concludes the press release.
